Pelatihan Bahasa Inggris bagi bilingual teachers di SMP Al Azhar Bengkulu

Pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh SMP AL Azhar yang menerapkan penggunaan bahasa Inggris bagi guru bidang studi terutama Matematika dan Science dalam penyampaian materi. Oleh karena itu perlu diberikan bekal pengetahuan tentang teknologi pembelajaran melalui pelatihan. Adapun tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk melatih para guru di SMP Al Azhar Bengkulu untuk mampu mengaplikasikan bahasa Inggris dalam bidang studi masing-masing. Dalam melaksanakan kegiatan ini, metode pengabdian dilakukan dalam bentuk sosialisasi dan pelatihan serta evaluasi. Kegiatan pengadian ini terkait dengan Dinas pendidikan di Provinsi Bengkulu dan instansi pendidikan di Kota Bengkulu khususnya Sekolah Menengah Pertama. Dinas pendidikan dan instansi terkait merupakan lembaga yang memiliki visi yang sama dengan tim pelaksana kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini yakni mencerdaskan kehidupan Bangsa Indonesia. Kegiatan evaluasi pada pengabdian masyarakat ini terkait semua hal yang terjadi dalam proses pelaksanan kegiatan. Hal ini dimulai dari tahap awal berupa persiapan yang meliputi pengamatan lapangan (pada Sekolah Menengah Pertama AL Azhar Bengkulu, sosialisasi dan Pelatihan). Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa para peserta mengikuti dengan baik mulai dari pembukaan hingga evaluasi. Para guru sangat antusias dalam melakukan praktik mengajar dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Selain itu, para guru memberikan persepsi yang psositif terhadap pelaksanaan pelatihan ini.
