Abstract

 

This study aims to examine the descriptive writing skills of class II SDN Rendeh students for the 2019/2020 academic year using a contextual approach assisted by image media with 30 students (male= 14 and female= 16) as research subjects. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The research stages include (1) the preparation stage; (2) the analysis stage; (3) evaluation. The instruments in this study used observation sheets, test questions, ang questionnaires. The results showed that there was increase in the quality of learning to write descriptions with the application of a contextual approach assisted by image media. This is evident from the average value on teacher observation of 96, the average value on student observations of 95, an increase in the percentase of the pretest to postest score by 29%, and the percentage of the teacher’s questionnaire value of 96%, and the average the percentage of the student questionnaire value was 95%.

Abstrak

 

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah keterampilan menulis deskripsi pada siswa kelas II SDN Rendeh tahun ajaran 2019/2020 dengan menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual berbantuan media gambar dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 30 siswa (laki-laki = 14 dan perempuan= 16). Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Tahapan-tahapan penelitian meliputi (1) tahap persiapan; (2) tahap analisis; (3) evaluasi. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar observasi, soal tes, dan pembuatan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran menulis deskripsi dengan diterapkannya pendekatan kontekstual berbantuan media gambar. Hal tersebut terbukti dari nilai rata-rata pada observasi guru sebesar 96, nilai rata-rata observasi siswa sebesar 95, persentase peningkatan nilai pre test ke pos test sebesar 29%, serta persentase nilai angket guru sebesar 96%, dan rata-rata persentase nilai angket siswa sebesar 93%.
