Abstract

This research is motivated by the low gross motor skills of children at Dharma Wanita Kauman Kindergarten, resulting from a lack of provided motor stimulation. To address this issue, the researcher introduced "Sport Fun Activity" as an active and engaging stimulation to improve these skills. This study aims to determine the effect of Sport Fun Activity on the gross motor skills of children in Group B at Dharma Wanita Kauman Kindergarten. The research method employed was a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects consisted of 38 children, divided into an experimental group (18 children) and a control group (20 children)s. Data collection was conducted through observation using a gross motor skills assessment rubric that measured the ability to jump with both legs and maintain balance. Data analysis involved normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. The results demonstrated a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores in the experimental group, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Consequently, it can be concluded that Sport Fun Activity has a significant effect on improving the gross motor skills of children in Group B at Dharma Wanita Kauman Kindergarten.
