Abstract

This research aims to determine the increase in critical thinking skills by using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model of heat material and its changes in fifth grade elementary school students. The research subjects were 30 class V students at SDN Sirnagalih consisting of 11 female students and 19 male students. The quantitative data collection technique used was by providing pretest and posttest questions. The results of this research which has been carrid out can be concluded by using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model to improve critical thinking skills regarding heat material and its changes in fifth grade elementary school students who have an average score of 54,87 before carying treatment and have experienced an increase amounted to 77,35 after using treatment.
