Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the process of implementing group guidance using symbolic modeling techniques to improve student career planning as well as the obstacles faced by teachers and students of class XI SMK Negeri 1 Bojong. This research method is a mix method using the explanatory sequential design with one group pretest-posttest design. This sampling technique used purposive sampling technique, the subjects in this research were class XI students at SMK Negeri 1 Bojong with a population of 50 students and a sample consisting of 7 students. Data collection used in this research used a career planning instrument. Data analysis used in this research used a paired t-test with the help of SPSS version 25. Based on the results of the paired t-test, the value was 0.000 < 0.05, which means there is an influence on group guidance services using symbolic modeling techniques to improve the careers of class XI students. SMK Negeri 1 Bojong, so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. The process of implementing group guidance services using symbolic modeling techniques was carried out in 5 sessions. And the obstacles faced by guidance and counseling teachers and students are limited time and students are still confused and less open to expressing their opinions. It can be concluded that the effectiveness of group guidance services using symbolic modeling techniques to improve the career planning of class XI students at SMK Negeri 1 Bojong is effective. In order to create a service to improve career planning at SMK Negeri 1 Bojong.
