METODE RELAKSASI MINDFULNESS UNTUK MENGURANGI TINGKAT STRES AKADEMIK PADA SISWA KELAS X SMA NEGERI 5 SAMARINDA TAHUN AJARAN 2024/2025

This research was conducted based on data obtained through a preliminary study on grade X students of SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda which showed high levels of academic stress with symptoms that appear such as anxiety, difficulty concentrating, difficulty resting, easily irritated by something and negative thoughts. This study aims to determine whether the mindfulness relaxation method has an impact on reducing academic stress levels in students. The type of research used is quantitative research. The experimental design used in this study is a quasi-experiment, with a one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study amounted to 68 students and a sample of 5 students who were identified as having symptoms of high levels of academic stress. The sampling technique used is Purposive Sampling. Based on the implementation of the research that has been done, it is known that the mindfulness relaxation method can reduce stress levels in grade X students. This is known from the results of the average pre-test score of 128.6000 while the average post-test was 80.8000. This means that the average post-test is lower than the average pre-test. The results of the paired sample T-Test data analysis also showed a t value of 27.415 with a significance of <0.001 which means <0.001 <0.05. The basis for making the decision is if the sig. value (2 tailed) is smaller <0.05 then the mindfulness relaxation method has an impact on reducing the level of academic stress in class X students of SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda. It can be concluded that the significance value (2-tailed) of <0.001 <0.05 then the mindfulness relaxation method has an impact on reducing the level of academic stress in class X students of SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda. This is supported by the results of observations which show that group counseling with the mindfulness relaxation method to reduce the level of academic stress in class X students makes students more courageous in expressing opinions, starting to recognize themselves such as their strengths and weaknesses, and learning to manage emotions. Then based on the results of the academic stress scale, students are in the moderate category.
