Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of guidance and counseling teachers in applying individual counseling techniques to overcome learning stress in students of SMP Negeri 8 Palopo. The approach used is qualitative with phenomenological design. The research subjects consisted of BK teachers, homeroom teachers, and students who experienced learning stress. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that BK teachers played a role in identifying student problems, applying counseling techniques as needed, and monitoring post-counseling developments. The success of individual counseling techniques is influenced by student openness, counselor approach, and collaboration between teachers, homeroom teachers, and parents. This research confirms the importance of well-rounded support in helping students cope with academic stress and improve learning well-being.
