STRATEGI GURU BIMBINGAN DAN KONSELING DALAM MENANGANI PERILAKU MEMBOLOS SISWA (STUDI KASUS DI SMP NEGERI 8 PALOPO)

This study aims to describe the strategies employed by guidance and counseling teachers in addressing student truancy behavior at SMP Negeri 8 Palopo and to identify the underlying factors that contribute to truancy. The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants included three guidance and counseling teachers, one homeroom teacher, and two students with truancy experience. The findings reveal that the strategies involve collecting attendance data, conducting individual or group counseling sessions, and collaborating with homeroom teachers, parents, and school principals. Internal factors such as boredom, disinterest in certain subjects, and a preference for gaming were the main causes of truancy, while external factors included peer influence and environmental conditions. This study highlights the importance of collaborative approaches and tailored counseling services in effectively addressing student truancy.
