ANALISIS PENGARUH KECENDERUNGAN PERILAKU NARSISTIK IBU RUMAH TANGGA PENGUNA MEDIA SOSIAL TERHADAP KONDISI PSIKOLOGIS SISWA

Abstract

This study examines the psychosocial impact of mothers’ excessive self-presentation and conflict exposure on social media toward students. The topic is important because digital activities of parents may indirectly influence adolescents’ emotional and social well-being. This research employed a qualitative case study approach involving three high school students selected purposively. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and psychological distress questionnaires, then analyzed using source triangulation involving counseling teachers and peers. The findings indicate that parental social media behavior contributes to feelings of shame, decreased self-confidence, social withdrawal, emotional difficulties, and interpersonal problems among students. One subject experienced severe psychological distress associated with bullying and public humiliation in digital spaces. Questionnaire results also showed moderate-to-high psychological pressure among participants. These findings demonstrate that parental involvement in digital spaces can significantly affect adolescents’ psychosocial conditions. Therefore, wiser social media use and support from schools and counseling services are needed to reduce negative impacts on students.
