Abstract

This research focuses on self-control in class VII students at Krida Utama Padalarang Junior High School. Krida Utama Padalarang in the 2023/2024 academic year, this research aims to increase self-control in class VII students through group guidance services with problem solving techniques; Mix Method or a combination method of quantitative research and qualitative research, and accompanied by a sequential explanatory model, with the first stage in quantitative research and followed by qualitative research. The technique used for quantitative research is in the form of a questionnaire that has been validated by experts, while for qualitative data collection it is in the form of interview and observation guidelines with the guidance counselor and six class VII students. The subjects in this research were six respondents. The results of this research indicate that group guidance services using problem solving techniques were implemented with good results to improve the self-control of class VII students at Krida Utama Padalarang Junior High School. Judging from the results of the N-Gain Score test, it shows that the average N-Gain Score value of (65%) is included in the "quite effective" category. Student responses to the application of group learning using problem solving techniques are very good, meaning this service can increasing students' self-control and increasing, especially with this problem solving technique students can find and solve problems by themselves.
