A PENGARUH KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL TERHADAP INTERAKSI SOSIAL PESERTA DIDIK DI SMK NEGERI 1 RANAH BATAHAN

Abstract

Social interaction is a common problem faced by students at school and outside of school. This study aims to determine the extent to which interpersonal communication affects the social interaction of students at SMK Negeri 1 Ranah Batahan. This study uses a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression analysis method. The sample in this study was class X SMK Negeri 1 Ranah Batahan as many as 86 students obtained using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection through research instruments using questionnaires and processed using IBM Statistic version 30.0 using analysis prerequisite tests, namely normality tests, linearity tests, and regression tests. The research findings show that students' interpersonal communication is in the poor category with a percentage of 59,3%, and students' social interaction is in the poor category with a percentage of 65,12%. The results of the regression analysis show that the coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.182, which means that interpersonal communication has an influence of 18,2% on social interaction and is in the very weak category. This study concludes that social interaction is influenced by interpersonal communication as much as 18,2% and the rest is influenced by other factors that were not detected in this study.
