Abstract

This study aimed to develop an electronic classical guidance module to increase the self-confidence of eighth-grade junior high school students and to test its effectiveness. This study used a Research and Development (R&D) method adapted from the Borg & Gall model, which consists of seven stages. Participants included two subject matter experts, two media experts, one guidance and counseling practitioner, 15 students in a limited trial, and 60 students in a field trial, divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through a validation questionnaire, a student response questionnaire, and pre- and post-test self-confidence instruments. Data analysis used feasibility assessment, independent sample t-tests, and N-gain analysis. The results showed that the electronic module was categorized as feasible, with validation scores of 74.58% (subject matter experts), 74.72% (media experts), and 78.64% (practitioners). The limited trial yielded a score of 78.33%. An independent sample t-test showed a significant difference between the groups (p < 0.05). However, the N-gain score of 16.76% indicates that practical improvements in student self-confidence are still low. Therefore, this e-module is suitable for guidance and counseling services but requires further refinement to increase its effectiveness.
