Abstract

The digital transformation in education demands that elementary school teachers improve their digital literacy, particularly in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Teachers' limited understanding of AI-based applications in learning is a barrier to implementing education that adapts to technological developments. This community service activity aims to improve the capacity of elementary school teachers to integrate AI-based learning applications into the teaching and learning process. The training was conducted in a cluster of elementary schools in West Bandung Regency, involving 45 teachers. This activity was based on the theories of digital literacy (Ng, 2012), digital pedagogy (Selwyn, 2022), and technology-based learning (Luckin et al., 2016). The method used was participatory training with a workshop approach and hands-on practice using ChatGPT, Quillionz, and Canva AI. Evaluation was conducted using pretests and posttests, as well as a satisfaction questionnaire. The results showed a significant increase in teachers' understanding of the concepts and practices of using AI in learning. This program has had a positive impact on building teacher readiness for 21st-century learning. In conclusion, AI-based digital literacy training is effective in improving teachers' digital competencies, while also serving as a model for educator empowerment in the era of smart technology.
