PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN DISCOVERY LEARNING BERBANTUAN LIVEWORKSHEET MATERI TEKS DESKRIPSI TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS SISWA

Abstract

This study aimed to describe changes in junior high school students’ descriptive writing skills following the implementation of the discovery learning model assisted by Liveworksheet. The study was motivated by students’ difficulties in producing descriptive texts that were coherent, complete, and linguistically appropriate. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed with 22 seventh-grade students of SMP Nurul Ilmi Boarding School. Data were collected through pretest and posttest writing assessments. The findings showed an increase in the mean score from 60.00 on the pretest to 79.27 on the posttest. These results indicate that the implementation of discovery learning supported by the interactive digital medium Liveworksheet was associated with improved descriptive writing performance. The findings may provide an alternative reference for the use of active learning models and interactive digital media in writing instruction.
