Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for references have been provided.
  • The text is single spaced; use 12 point font; use italics instead of underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, not at the end.
  • The text complies with the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which can be found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Jurnal Profesi Pendidikan (JPP), is a journal in Indonesia designed and specifically for lecturers, researchers, educators, students (S1, S2, and S3) who wish to publish their research or literature review articles (only for invited contributors) about teaching, learning and teaching, curriculum development, learning environment, teacher education, education, technology, and educational development.

Jurnal Profesi Pendidikan (JPP) published by PPG IKIP Siliwangi, Indonesia, an international journal, provides a forum for publishing original research articles and review articles from contributors which are published twice a year: April and November.

Scientific articles related to design research, development research, etc. very welcome. This journal includes research articles, original research reports, reviews, short communications and scientific opinions in Elementary Teacher Education.

All papers submitted to the journal must be written in good English and Indonesian. Writers for whom English is not their native language are encouraged to check their papers before presentation for grammar and clarity. English language and copyediting services can be provided by: International Science Editing and Asia Science Editing. The work may not be published or published for publication elsewhere. The official language of the manuscript to be published in Jurnal Profesi Pendidikan (JPP) is Indonesian.

  1. General Writer's Guidelines

All manuscripts must be submitted to the Editorial Office of the Jurnal Profesi Pendidikan (JPP) with Online Submission at the E-Journal portal address: https://journal.ikipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/jpp, where the author registers as Author and/or offered as an online Reviewer. If the author has problems in online submission, please contact the Editorial Office at the following email: jpp@journal.ikipsiliwangi.ac.id

The following documents must accompany manuscripts submitted online via the online submission interface (as additional files):

Original signed Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA) form (scan document after signing)

Cover letter, outlining the basic findings of the paper and their significance.

Three types of manuscripts are acceptable for publication: Original Research Article, Review Article, and Short Communication.

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the following author guidelines in MS Word article templates (download MS Word article templates here) or in PDF (download PDF article templates here)

  1. Manuscript Review

Each submitted material is independently reviewed by at least two peer reviewers. Decisions for publication, amendment, or rejection are based on their reports/recommendations. If two or more reviewers deem a manuscript unfit for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the decision will be sent to the author within three months of the submission date.

  1. Manuscript Revision

Manuscripts sent back to the author for revision must be returned to the editor without delay. Revised manuscripts can be sent to the editor via the Online Submission Interface (https://journal.ikipsiliwangi.ac.id/index.php/jpp). Revised manuscripts returned more than three months will be considered new submissions.

  1. Graphic Abstract

Graphic Abstracts are mandatory for this journal from 2022. This journal must summarize the content of the article in the form of concise images designed to attract the attention of a wide online readership. Authors must provide images that clearly represent the work described in the article. The graphic abstract must be submitted as a separate file in the online submission system or can be sent via email to: jpp@journal.ikipsiliwangi.ac.id after the manuscript is received. Please include the manuscript number in the subject of your email.

Image size: please provide an image with a minimum of 531— 1328 pixels (t — w) or more proportionally. Images must be readable at 5 — 13 cm using a typical screen resolution of 96 dpi. Preferred file types: TIFF, EPS, JPG, PDF or MS Office files.

  1. Online Submission Guidelines

Authors must first register as Authors and/or be offered as Reviewers via the following address:

Authors must fill out the form in as much detail as possible where an asterisk must be included. After all form text boxes are filled in, the Author clicks the Register button to continue registration. Therefore, the Author is taken to the online author submission interface where the Author must click on “New Submission”. In the Start a New Submission section, click "'Click Here': to proceed to the first step of the five-step submission process." The following are the five steps in the online application process:

 

Step 1 - Start Submission: Select the appropriate journal section, namely Original Research Article, Review Article, or Short Communication. Thus, authors should tick off the submission checklist.

Step 2 - Uploading Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and select the manuscript document file to be submitted, then click the Upload button.

Step 3 - Entering Submission Metadata: In this step, detailed author metadata must be entered including the corresponding author being tagged. After that, the manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and pasting it in the text box including keywords.

Step 4 - Uploading Additional Files: Additional files must be uploaded including the Cover Letter/Submission, and Signed Copyright Assignment Agreement Form. Therefore, click the Browse button, select the file, then click the Upload button.

Step 5 - Confirming Submission: Authors must check the manuscript documents uploaded in this step. To send a manuscript to Jurnal Profesi Pendidikan (JPP), click the Finish Submission button after the document is correct. The corresponding author or primary contact will receive notification via email and will be able to view the submission's progress through the editorial process by logging into the journal's website address.

After this submission, the author who sent the manuscript will receive a confirmation email regarding the submission. Therefore, Authors can track their submission status at any time by logging into the online submission interface. Submission tracking including manuscript review status and editorial process.

An article is a complete research report containing a detailed description of an experimental or theoretical study with a clear interpretation and discussion of theoretical and/or experimental results and data. Articles must be organized under the section headings Abstract (English and Indonesian), Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments (optional) and References.

The organization shown below should be followed (in the order given):

  1. Paper title (title case, 14 pt, bold, center)
  2. Author's name (12 pt)
  3. Author affiliation (10 pt)
  4. Address of the institution where the work is carried out (10 pt)
  5. The name, postal and e-mail addresses, and telephone and fax numbers of the corresponding author to whom the revision or paper proof will be sent. (10 points)

The title should be short and no more than 20 words. The affiliate address for each author must be indicated with a superscript Arabic numeral (1, 2, 3, etc.).

Abstract (10 pt, bold)

Articles must include an abstract of 200 words or less. The abstract must not repeat information that is already in the title.

Abstracts must be written in English and Indonesian.

Keywords (10 pt, italics)

Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 5 keywords written in alphabetical order. Please avoid general terms, multiple concepts (avoid, for example, and or of), and abbreviations. Only abbreviations that are well established in the field are eligible.

Introduction (12 pt, bold)

The introduction presents the aims of the reported study and its relationship to previous work in the field. It should not be an extensive literature review. Use only necessary references to provide the most salient background to enable the reader to understand and evaluate the aims and results of this research without reference to previous publications on the topic.

Method (12 pt, bold)

The Methods section should be brief, but should include sufficient technical information to make this possible
