Peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP melalui model project based learning berbantuan media canva

The purpose of this study is to examine how PjBL supported by Canva enhances junior high school students’ mathematical reasoning skills. A mixed-method approach with an explanatory sequential design was employed. The subjects of this study were 8th-grade students of SMP Arroyan in Bogor Regency. They were divided into two classes: an experimental class and a control class, each consisting of 27 students. Five essay questions designed to assess mathematical reasoning ability were used as the research instrument. Data analysis involved normality testing, homogeneity testing, N-gain analysis, and t-tests, supported by student response surveys and observational data. The average score increased from 45.88 to 85.56 when comparing pretest and posttest results. This improvement falls into the high category, with an N-gain score of 0.72. According to the t-test results, the experimental and control classes showed significantly different improvements (p < 0.05). Additionally, 77.96% of students gave responses categorized as very good toward the learning process. Therefore, the use of PjBL supported by Canva can help enhance students’ mathematical reasoning abilities.
