Correction and Retraction

JPMI (Jurnal Pembelajaran Matematika Inovatif) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical concerns are identified in a published article, the journal will take appropriate editorial action in accordance with the severity of the issue, the available evidence, and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Correction (Erratum/Corrigendum)

A correction may be issued when a significant typographical, technical, or factual error is identified in a published article, provided that the error does not invalidate the main findings or conclusions of the research.

Corrections are published as a separate notice that clearly identifies the original article, describes the error, and provides the corrected information. The correction notice is linked to the original article to ensure transparency and preserve the accuracy of the scholarly record.

2. Retraction

JPMI may retract a published article when there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable or that the article violates fundamental principles of research or publication ethics.

Grounds for retraction include, but are not limited to:

  1. Unreliable findings: Clear evidence that the findings are invalid or unreliable as a result of research misconduct, such as data fabrication or falsification, or an honest error, such as a serious miscalculation or methodological error.

  2. Redundant or duplicate publication: Substantial overlap with previously published work without appropriate acknowledgment, cross-referencing, permission where required, or a valid justification.

  3. Plagiarism: Evidence that substantial portions of the article have been copied or presented as original work without appropriate attribution.

  4. Unethical research: Evidence that the research was conducted or reported in violation of applicable ethical standards, including the absence of required ethical approval or informed consent where applicable.

  5. Other serious ethical violations: Other substantiated forms of research or publication misconduct that undermine the reliability or integrity of the published work.

Retraction is intended to correct the scholarly record and does not necessarily imply that the authors acted intentionally or committed misconduct. The reason for retraction will be stated clearly in the retraction notice.

3. Retraction Procedure

The decision to retract an article is made by the journal's editorial team after evaluating the available evidence and, where appropriate, obtaining advice from independent experts or the authors' institution. Authors will normally be given an opportunity to respond to the concerns before a final decision is made.

The retraction process follows the relevant guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), available at https://publicationethics.org.

When an article is retracted:

  • A formal retraction notice will be published, explaining the reasons for the retraction.

  • The retraction notice will be directly linked to the original article.

  • The original article will remain accessible where appropriate to preserve the scholarly record, but it will be clearly marked “RETRACTED”.

  • The retraction status will be reflected in the article's online record and metadata, where technically possible.

JPMI applies these procedures to maintain transparency, accountability, and the integrity of the scholarly literature.
