The National Literacy Movement emphasizes the integration of literacy into mathematics learning to develop 21st-century skills. However, PISA results indicate low levels of mathematical literacy among Indonesian students. This condition encourages the examination of mathematical literacy in terms of mathematical resilience in facing difficulties. This study aims to describe students’ mathematical literacy in terms of mathematical resilience in statistics. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving 30 eighth-grade students from a junior high school in Bojonegoro Regency. Data were collected through questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The subjects were purposively selected based on high, moderate, and low levels of mathematical resilience. The results showed that 16.67% of students had high mathematical resilience, 60% had moderate resilience, and 23.33% had low resilience. Students with high mathematical resilience fulfilled all mathematical literacy indicators, those with moderate resilience fulfilled most indicators, while those with low resilience fulfilled only the basic indicators. The findings indicate a tendency that higher mathematical resilience is associated with better mathematical literacy in solving statistical problems.
